The Symphony Choir’s Accompanist

Abigail le Roux is a music teacher and piano accompanist, holding a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master’s in Education from the University of Cape Town.

She currently teaches at St Cyprian’s School and has previously held teaching positions at Westerford High School and Bridge House School in Franschhoek.

In addition to her teaching and performing work, Abigail is an independent researcher whose interests centre on race and politics in education.

She is the recipient of several academic awards, most recently the South African Girls’ School Association (SAGSA) Action Research Programme Fellowship and the American Educational Research Association (AERA) International Travel Award, which enabled her to present her Master’s research in Philadelphia, USA.

Abigail is married to Francois, and together they have a daughter, Madison, as well as two beloved dogs, Ollie and Stacey.
