An Afternoon of Bach
On Sunday, 3 April, at 4pm, the Choir performed Bach’s Magnificat and Cantata 140 Wachet Auf in the Bishops Chapel.
It was quite a while since the Choir had sung Bach but the success of the incredible hard work put in by the Musical Director, Alex Fokkens and the choir members, was evident in the audience response to the performance. It was a wonderful afternoon of music in beautiful surroundings.
The soloists, Maudee Montiere, Minette Du Toit Pearce, Sunnyboy Dladla and Conroy Scott all gave excellent perfomances.

Verdi Requiem
The Symphony Choir of Cape Town together with the Philharmonia Choir of Cape Town performed Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem at the Cape Town City Hall on Thursday 7th October and Sunday 10th October.
The choirs were conducted by Victor Yampolsky and accompanied by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra.
Soloists:

- Elizabeth Frandsen (mezzo)
- Matthew Overmeyer (tenor)
- Monde Masimini (bass)
Brahms Liebesliederwalzer
The Symphony Choir of Cape Town performed both sets of Johannes Brahms’ Liebesliederwalzer at 4pm on Sunday 23 May 2010 at Bishops Memorial Chapel, Rondebosch.
The choir was accompanied by acclaimed pianists François Du Toit and José Dias.
We would like to thank the UK Emporium and The Winchester Mansions Hotel for their generous contributions which helped in covering the costs of this concert.
