Haydn: ‘Sunrise’ Quartet in F Major op. 76. No. 2
Matthijs van Dijk: “Truce”, he asked - for string quartet
The Quartet is made up of:
Anna van der Merwe, Sang-woo Jun (violins),
Cara Coetzee (viola)
and Eddie McLean (cello – previously a member of the Sontonga Quartet).
Both Anna and Sang-woo are currently undergraduate students at UCT’s South African College of Music. Cara Coetzee studied the viola at the prestigious Royal College of Music in London and has returned to continue her career in Cape Town. Eddie McLean is currently the co-principal cellist of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and is an alumnus of UCT SACM.
The quartet has been invited and accepted to attend the Musicworks course in the U.K in September this year, where they will be coached by members of the London Haydn Quartet.
